Lecrae Gets 2 More Grammy Nods

Houston’s own, Lecrae, receives two Grammy nominations for the 2020 season. For the 63rd Grammy Awards, the ‘Zombies’ artist is nominated for “Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for his single ‘Sunday Morning’ featuring Kirk Frankin and also for “Best Gospel Performance/Song” for his featuring role on Rodney “Darkchild” Jenkins’ ‘Come Together’ which premiered in May.

The co-founder of Reach Records has had a total of seven nominations and two wins. He posted to Twitter on Tuesday, “Guess God felt like showing out today with a couple of Grammy Nod.”

Lecrae received his first Grammy nomination back in 2010 for Best Rock or Rap Album with his project Rehab, and his first Grammy wins for “Best Gospel Album” with Gravity in 2012.

Earlier this fall, Lecrae released his 10th album under his label Reach Records ‘Restoration’ which put him at number one on the Billboard’s Top Christian Albums Chart in September. This accomplishment is Lecrae’s ninth album to receive it, making him the record holder for soloists. (The Passion Worship Music Collective also has nine Top Christian Albums)

Despite the restrictions most artists are facing due to the national pandemic, Lecrae made sure the fans still got a chance to see the artist live with his online event “the I AM RESTORED experience” last month. The event coincided with his new book by the same title where he shares “how I lost my religion but found my faith.”
