Nike and Beats by Dre cancel Deshaun Watson amid allegations

Sponsorships suspended with QB Deshaun Watson until investigation is finished.

"We are deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations and have suspended Deshaun Watson," Nike stated in a press statement that came out Wednesday morning.

The electronic headphone company, Beats by Dre, has also terminated their partnership with the Texans QB. No additional information or statement has been released yet from the company at this time.

These drastic actions taken by Nike and Beats by Dre come just a day after two people accused Watson of Watson’s accuser made their claims public. Only one of the accusers held a news conference and stated various details of the misconduct that happened with Watson.

The accuser that held this news conference was Ashley Solis. Solis stated she became a massage therapist to heal people’s minds and bodies. However, after what she said happened to her in March 2020, she can no longer do what she loves without shaking. Her hands tremble when she is working on clients, this results her to cut the sessions short. Solis suffers from panic attacks, anxiety and depression.

The other accuser who was not at the news conference is Lauren Baxley. Baxley instead provided a letter stating such, “Every boundary from professional and therapeutic to sexual and degrading, you crossed or attempted to cross,” when talking about Watson’s actions.

Watson still denies all of these claims and is looking to clear his name in court.
