H.S. Students Surprise Classmate For Graduation
Michael Tertsea was surprised earlier this month at Baltimore-Washington International Airport, for his high school graduation, by his mother for a beautiful mother-son reunion. This was able to happen due to his classmates secretly raising $1,600.00 to help bring his mother, Felicia Ikpum, to the U.S. to witness his graduation. They made the decision to do this after his high school newspaper wrote a story about him and highlighted that his family struggled to make ends meet back home.
Michael Tertsea was given a scholarship to leave Nigeria so he could study and play basketball at the John Carroll School outside Baltimore. Of course he jumped at the opportunity–and has been successful for four years since then.
