The Chance of Life

In the black community, do we really take care of our temple! I want everyone to seriously think about that question. In my opinion no, we are at high risk for major diseases. The top five killers in the black communities are Cardiovascular Disease, Diabetes, HIV/AIDS, Cancer types (Lung, Breast, Colon, Prostate) and Vitamin D deficiency. With Cardiovascular Disease being the number one killer in both men and women. With diabetes, there are 3.5 million people affected and 33% of them don't even know they have it.

To stop the epidemic that is plaguing our communities we have to start in the home. We must start taking care of our bodies. We must make better chooses in the areas of food and exercise. The food industry is a billion-dollar industry. Have you noticed what type restaurants are in our neighborhood? Why do you think there are five different fast food places less than one mile from each other in a black community? They want us to kill ourselves. We must take control. We must watch what we eat, how much we eat, and start exercising on the regular bases. I'm not saying you can't have greens, mac and cheese, and turkey necks. You can have those things, but it's all in the way you cook it. We must take back our lives!
